Illinois Student Council has a rich history of creating programs and initiatives on campus.
ILIAD | Initiative for Leadership, Involvement, Advocacy & Development
ILIAD is a unique year-long Leadership Program where natural leadership abilities and talents are recognized and transformed into lifelong leadership skills, allowing participants to learn about Illinois Student Council, and build a deeper connection to the Illinois campus community. This leadership development program is for students who want to gain an insider's perspective on ISC while beginning their leadership journey.
Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are closed.
iClicker Loan Program
The iClicker Loan Program, established in the early 2010s, was created to support students in accessing classroom response technology without an upfront cost. Today, the program is coordinated by the Jeffries Center and remains committed to reducing barriers to academic success by offering loaned devices to students who need them.
iClickers are available on a limited basis and distributed following internal program guidelines that center accessibility and student need. Devices are available while supplies last.
To request an iClicker, please get in touch with Brian Becker, Jeffries Center Assistant Director for Events, Outreach, & Digital Strategy, at blbecke2.
HOPE Scholarship
The Helping Others’ Personal Excellence (HOPE) Scholarship is a student-initiated fee that provides funds for students who demonstrate financial need yet do not otherwise qualify for financial aid. Illinois Student Council and I-CAUSE created and implemented this scholarship in 2020. This scholarship fund—a commitment by students, for students—is intended to help alleviate some of the burdens that come with attaining higher education.
Teaching Excellence Award
The Illinois Student Council Teaching Excellence Award is an opportunity for students to recognize and thank excellent instructors for their hard work and commitment to the mission of the University. Any instructor may be nominated, from Teaching Assistants to Full Professors. Recipients will be selected and contacted in late March. Nominators and nominees will be invited to attend the Provost's Celebration of Teaching Excellence in April.
Nomination submissions for the 2025-2026 academic year will be active starting in the Spring Semester
U of I System Day in the Illinois Capitol
Day in the Illinois Capitol is an excellent opportunity for any student to engage in advocacy and meet with state legislators and staff on state priorities. Hosted by the University of Illinois System and coordinated by ISC, you'll learn about lobbying and policymaking.
This year's Day in the Illinois Capitol is still in the process of being planned. Check back soon for more details!
